Our long term exploration Investment Galileo Mining (ASX: GAL) just put out a batch of assay results and detailed what its next few months of drilling looks like.

The latest assays from drillhole NRDD420 extended GAL’s discovery to the east at depth with a 19m intercept returning PGE grades of 0.78g/t, copper grades of 0.21% and nickel grades of 0.19%.

GAL then moved its diamond drill rig to the north and started drilling out into the ~5km of prospective strike we have mentioned before.

The drill program is starting out testing ~600m to the north of GAL’s discovery and will progressively move further north depending on drill results.

For the next few months GAL’s drilling at Calisto will be focused on defining how far north along strike the Callisto discovery extends.

What’s next?

Step out drilling at Calisto 🔄

GAL is still drilling to the north of its discovery using a diamond drill rig.

Here GAL has over 5km of prospective strike to test. Below is an image showing where GAL is drilling right now relative to its existing discovery.

Drill program at Mission Sill & Jimberlana 🔄

GAL has already started planning for a 4,000m RC drill program at its Mission Sill and Jimberlana prospects.

Long time readers will know that these were the targets GAL had just started drilling before making the Calisto discovery, attention then turned away from them in favour of the newly discovered area.

At the time GAL had strong EM conductors, strong PGE grades from aircore drillholes AND the company had hit massive sulphides from shallow aircore drilling.

See our note on that massive sulphide intercept (from November 2021) here: GAL hits unexpected massive sulphides in shallow aircore drill program

We are looking forward to GAL going back and testing these targets - drilling is planned to commence in June/July.
