Final permitting meetings set for mid-March in the NT
Our domestic gas exploration Investment Top End Energy (ASX: TEE) just appointed contractors for gravity surveys across its Northern Territory permits.
TEE now has contractors ready to complete ~2,500 km of gravity gradiometry surveying as soon as its NT permits are granted.
The surveys are precursors for a 2D seismic program which ultimately determines where the company’s highest priority drill targets will be.
TEE expects the gravity surveys to commence in Q2-Q3 of this year assuming that its permits are granted in the coming weeks/months.
The only thing left before TEE can start exploration work is to see its permits get granted.
On the permitting front, TEE announced today that its next round of on-country meetings were set for mid-March after which TEE expects the permits to be granted (assuming the native title holders agree).
Below is an image of the permits TEE is prioritising for granting in the near term:
TEE's highest priority permits in the Northern Territory (EP 258 and EP 259) sit on the edge of the Greater McArthur Basin, south of the discoveries Santos, Origin and Empire Energy have made across the Beetaloo sub-basin.
At the moment, TEE has no seismic data available over the project area, but data collected by TEE's neighbours seem to suggest that the structures which they have drilled and made discoveries could extend into TEE's ground.
TEE is looking to test this theory in 2023, but before the company can do any exploration work, it needs to finalise permitting and secure its tenure.
