KNI intersects sulphide mineralisation at Norway copper project
Our battery materials Investment Kuniko (ASX:KNI) reports that drilling at its Norwegian copper project has intersected sulphide mineralisation in two distinct zones.
The 1,544m drilling program was completed last month. It consisted of 8 holes to test three separate conductor trends (the West Target, Middle Target and East Target).
Of these, drillholes at the West and Middle targets intersected sulphide minerals (pyrite and pyrrhotite) — the West zone has an observed strike length of 210m and the Middle zone a strike length of 128m.
The company is now awaiting assay results from the completed drilling program.
KNI went into the drilling program with high confidence targets for drilling given its prior geochemical and geophysical exploration work.
As the modelling workflow used to generate these targets has proved to be effective in approximating sulphides with high spatial precision, the upcoming field season will focus on using ground geophysics and geochemical sampling to prioritise prospective anomalies to apply this workflow to.
Targets generated in the 2022 field campaign have been selected for follow-up sampling and ground geophysics as part of an intensive campaign to produce high confidence drill targets for 2024.
Additionally, reconnaissance mapping in the recently acquired south-western extension of the Project will focus on ground-truthing historical geophysical anomalies and confirming the continuation of prospective geological trends mapped during the 2022 field campaign.
