Our 2020 Energy Pick of the Year, Invictus Energy (ASX: IVZ) has just completed its 2023 2D seismic program at its gas project in Zimbabwe.

As part of the program IVZ captured 425km of high resolution seismic data across the Eastern part of its acreage.

The program’s primary aim is to firm up drill targets and update the company’s 5.5 billion barrel of oil equivalent prospective resource.

The processing and interpretation of the results are expected to be run over the next ~six months.

What’s next for IVZ?

Drilling Mukuyu-2 in this quarter:

IVZ is currently completing well pad construction before it starts mobilising its drill rig onto the Mukuyu-2 well site.

IVZ’s rig is “warm stacked” meaning it is warmed up and ready to go once IVZ is ready to start drilling.

Drilling is targeted for Q3 of this year.

2D Seismic programs across eastern part of project:

Today IVZ completed the data acquisition process for its 2D seismic program.

Next it will be about processing and interpreting all of the data - this is expected to happen through to the end of the year.
