LSR on site at US heavy rare earths project

Our US heavy rare earths Investment Lodestar Minerals (ASX: LSR) put out an update from its project in Arizona, USA.

Today’s announcement comes a week after we saw LSR post this on Linkedin (CEO Coraline and Exploration Manager Finn on site):

Today LSR began a technical review on site, feeding into a decision on potential maiden drilling.

Drilling would come after radiometric surveying and further ground work to define and rank drill targets.

We already know LSR has sampled heavy rare earths from visible sections across the 5km shear zone:

And that the project has rock chips grading up to 14.68% TREO (total rare earth oxides).

(including 52% to 59% heavy rare earths - dysprosium, terbium and lutetium)

Those are the ones the US needs for defence, AI, robotics and quantum computing:

Next it will be about seeing whether those samples at surface, translate to extended mineralisation below ground.

What we are watching out for next from LSR

LSR has two projects in Chile, Los Loros and Three Saints.

The first one LSR drilled was Three Saints - here are the milestones we are tracking for that project:

✅ Assay results from hole 1
✅ Assay results from hole 2 (Final assays received today)
🔲 Reprocess the geophysics with the drill data from the first 2 holes for followup drilling (source)

The next one to be drilled will be Los Loros - here are the milestones we are tracking for that project:

🔲 Drilling date confirmation, drill rig secured (drilling has been delayed by local weather conditions)
🔲 Drilling underway (expected within the next week or 2)
🔲 Assay results

Drilling on this asset started a few weeks ago.

We are hoping to see the 250,000 to 300,000 ounce exploration target converted into a maiden resource estimate post drilling.
