Earlier today, our junior exploration Investment AuKing Mining (ASX:AKN) announced the commencement of drilling at its Manyoni Uranium Project in central Tanzania.

The program comprises 4,400m of drilling, and aims to “provide the basis for an updated resource estimate” at Manyoni, a precursor for development activities down the line.

In addition, several holes are slated for the nearby Itigi prospect, which features a major 40km x 10km radiometric anomaly that has never been drilled.

To illustrate Manyoni’s prospectivity, the aerial map below shows the uranium targets. Several of these will be tested in the current drill program.

What’s next?

Drilling will be ongoing for this quarter, and we could anticipate initial assays mid-year.

Eventually, AKN will consolidate all of the drilling data and use it to put together an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the project.

We are keen to see AKN receive back two PL holdings at Manyoni (PL 12193 and PL 12194) that were revoked in February 2023.

The appeal case is before the Tanzanian Minister of Mining, and we are hopeful that both PLs are reinstated to AKN. If that occurs, then AKN will incorporate those areas within the current program.
