Trek Metals Limited (ASX:TKM) has informed shareholders that it has finalised negotiations with its preferred drilling contractor, Geofor Gabon SA.
Approximately 2,000m of diamond drilling will be completed by Geofor at the promising Kroussou zinc-lead project in Gabon, with drilling expected to begin by mid-June.
TKM is aiming to present an open pit exploration program to the market upon completion of the drilling.
TKM Managing Director Bradley Drabsch commented on the update, “The anticipation is building amongst the crew that everyone excited about the impending commencement of our maiden exploration drilling programme at Kroussou.
“The Geofor team did a great job for us last year during our confirmation drilling programme and we look forward to their presence this time around as we seek to expand on what we already know about the project.”
The company looks forward to building on historic data from the project which is relatively incomplete.
Historical data includes:
- Approximately 7,500m drilled in total
- Only approximately 6% of all metres drilled have
been assayed
- Overall average maximum drillhole depth is 17m
- Just 25 holes drilled deeper than 40m
- Zero holes drilled deeper than 40m after 1963
Of course, as with all minerals exploration, success is not guaranteed — consider your own personal circumstances before investing, and seek professional financial advice.
